— International competition (23rd edition)

This is the historical section of the Festival, for which short fiction films, documentaries, docu-fiction films and cartoons can be presented. There is no set theme and it is possible to submit shorts in any language, as long as they are subtitled in English or Italian.

— VisionArt, visual arts in motion (9th edition)

The section is reserved for works of video art, digital experimentation, computer animation, etc. The theme is free and authors can express themselves in whatever way they like. The works selected will be judged by a panel of experts on contemporary artistic languages.

While this section won’t see prize money awarded, finalists will be included in an exclusive exhibition within the 2016 Festival and the best work will receive a special mention from the VisionArt Judging Panel.

— Special Section “Food and Water” (2nd edition)

This award, created in collaboration with the University of Siena, is dedicated to all international short fiction or documentary films on the theme of “Food and Water”.

Works submitted in this section will be judged by a special judging panel. The award ceremony will be in Spring 2017.
