What is it?:
A team of filmmakers challenges in the making of a short in 48 hours, following the suggestions of the audience present at Visionaria 2008 Festival.
How does it work?
October 2th the team composed of a director, an assistant director and three actors introduce themselves to the audience. The audience will be invited to give indications for the creation of this short film, for example: a title, a job and or a characteristic for each actor and the film genre. From October 3th in the streets and in the city of Piombino the short film written in the same day will be filmed. October 4th it will be edited and the same day it will be screened to the audience during the final soirée.
The director:
JEAN-PHILIPPE PEARSON immediately is interested in improvisation and in the “Match di Improvvisazione Teatrale a Québec”. The passion for improvisation brings him to the idea of a new show that will become in 1996 Impro-performance. The show will arrive quickly to the prestigious programming of the Festival Juste pour Rire - Just for Laughs. The critics and the people working in the environment of the showbiz the originality of his idea its effectiveness and his ability to improvise and the technology in particular the video. Since the beginning of his career amongst the various experiences and collaborations in many shorts, one of which “Second Chance” has been presented to the Cannes Film
Festival in the section Semaine de la Critique. In 1999 he is co author of the subject and of the screenplay of the long film (Québec-Montréal) that was screened in 2002, in which he has interpreted one of the main characters. The film has won the prizes for the cinema in Quebec: Best Film, Best Art Direction, Best Screenplay In 2005 his second feature film Horologe Biologique was off. The movie was successful and earned more than 4 million dollars. At the moment he’s writing a script for a future production in Canada in 2008.
