PROGR 01 - Vrnitev 2. di Topolò
“To all Topolònauts close and far for next Stazione di Topolò-Postaja Topolove’s edition we have in mind a project that we feel important. VRNITEV It’s about making a 60 seconds (1minute) video piece in which you can visualize a “come back” (vrnitev, that is). Thus stopping a memory, activating a connection, direct or indirect with the Station and/or with Topolò the village.....”

This was the beginning of the invitation sent in February 2004 to all those who had taken part one time or another to Topolò’s gatherings. The aim of the project is to reconnect and re-establish affections and relationships that have developed over the past 10 years. The Stazione-Postaja is nothing but a conjunction point of such kind, in which, up to a few years back people did not meet, did to pass by, were not allowed to take picture and even less shoot films: it was the extreme outpost of a world against another one, it used to be called the “iron curtain”, a cone of shadow in the middle of many lights.Only few of the pieces received have been made by professional film/vidomakers, most of them come in fact from artists who have little experience in the field, some had never even used a video camera before this Vrnitev. Musicians, writers, cultural operators have understood the gist of the initiative and so have joined in enthusiastically. The underlying spirit is that of a gift, a free exchange, as it has always been in Topolò, which is a place offering hospitality, a resting place, a meeting point. No classifications, no expectations, only the pleasure of returning, of meeting up again. The video sequence depends from the mail arrival order; funny enough the last piece would have been the last one even if we chose to adopt the alphabetical order. Just a coincidence, naturally...
