RUGA is the new DVD magazine from the creators of ROJO. Born in 2001, ROJO has its headquarters in Barcelona’s Plaza del Sol. ROJO’s most known artistic expression is a bimonthly printed magazine made completely out of contributions by worldwide artists, and that ROJO presents with events in big cities around the world. ROJO also organizes cultural events, experimental music festivals, art exhibitions, audiovisual installations, sport shoe collections and t-shirts, as well as editing CD’s, DVD’s and vinyl records. ROJO is David Quiles Guillò, Marc Mascort i Boix and Alejandra Raschkes interacting directly with more than 500 contributors and networking with ROJO own associated directors locally in France, Germany, Italia, United Kingdom, Denmark, Finland, Portugal, Israel, Canada, USA, Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Japan and Australia. The idea of not being able to include motion and video works in the printed magazine has taken us to create RUGA. a new magazine in DVD format that will release every 3 months 4 issues per year of limited edition of 1000 DVD copies containing unusual audiovisual pieces by the most talented and surprising artists worldwide. RUGA DVD issues are to be distributed in selected stores worldwide. Everyissue of RUGA will be launched in presentatio events worldwide together with ROJO magazine. RUGA will be art directed by ACTOP, a studio, created by César Pesquera and Alvaro P. Posadas, operating as an open structure. ACTOP works on motion graphics, animation, live visuals and new approaches to the moving image.
