ROUND TO VISIONARIA: SOME TIMES THEY COME BACK
"The co-operations among festivals is rather unusual especially if friendly and no profit. Some organizers still believe in the “exclusiveness”. They make a boast of “their” authors and of unpublished works. This is not for ROUND – National Movie and Independent Video Festival, promoted by UNASPACLI/ Image project of Rimini, which uninterruptedly attained the 26th year. The Festival makes a name among the Italian ones as a landmark for professional and friendly exchanges among other festivals to promote the most expressive works realized by young and new directors. During all these years ROUND collaborated with several similar realities which share the same goals (for instance our last experience with Aperitif Corto a national circuit we took part to). Some famous authors as David Riondino, Antonio Rezza, Ciprì & Maresco, Alex Infascelli, Gabriele Muccino, Anna De Manincor, Eugenio Cappuccio participated with their works at ROUND. We are proud of ROUND Festival because it is completely self produced, it doesn’t receive public funds and publishes a catalogue, thank to a group of voluntary freelancer who promote short and video films. The particular relationship with Visionaria started in 1994. We share with Mauro Tozzi, who’s a friend and a collegue, the professional goals. We enthusiastically accepted the new invitation to present a selection of the last three editions screened movies including the winners of the Opera Prima prize, that’s the only competition section at the Festival. We are really happy to meet again together. The selected works range in a various view for topics and motivation, from the theme works to the animation, from the drama to the comedy, from surrealist subject to the theatre, from the social theme to the human feeling. This selection offers a breadth view on the nowdays video productions ranging from debut works and short films by already accomplished authors."
