Corto a' la carte
The short film, which is produced every year since 2003 by Visionaria. Written with the help of the public, the film was directed by Jean-Philippe Pearson and is shot, edited and screened during the festival days.

 

What is it?:

A team of filmmakers challenge in the making of a short in 48 hours, following the suggestions of the audience present at Visionaria 2007 Festival.

 

How does it work?

October 25rd the team composed of a director, an assistant director and three actors introduce themselves to the audience. The audience will be invited to give indications for the creation of this short film, for example: a title, a job and or a characteristic for each actor and the film genre.

 

From  October 26th in the streets and in the city of Piombino the short film written in the same day will be filmed.

 

October 27th it will be edited and the same day it will be screened to the audience during the final soirée.

 

Since 2003 Jean Philippe Pearson presents Corto à la Carte at Visionaria, and experimental project that produced:

Ho perso la Fede (2003, 10’) con/with Alessandro Benvenuti, Andrea Mitri, Giovanni Palanza, Alfredo Cavazzoni;

I profumi della vita (2005, 11’) con/with Gila Manetti, Giovanni Palanza, Antonio Vulpio;

Se la fortuna ti volta le spalle, toccale il sedere vedrai che si gira (2006, 15’) con/with Gila Manetti, Alfredo Cavazzoni, Duccio arlucchi, Pino Modica.

 

Jean-Philippe Pearson immediately interested in improvisation as a player Match Improvisation Theatre in Quebec. The passion for improvisation led him to the conception of a new show that will become in 1996 Impro-performance. The show will arrive quickly at the prestigious program of the Festival Juste pour Rire - Just for Laughs. The critics and the people working in the show the originality of its idea, its effectiveness and its ability to marry the improvisation and technology, in particular the video.
Since the beginning of his career the various experiences and collaborations in many short films, one of which is "Second Chance" was presented at the Festival de Cannes 2000 Critics' Week section. In 1999 he co-authored story and screenplay for a feature film (Québec-Montréal), which was screened in 2002, in which he played one of the main characters. The film has won awards for cinematography in Québec: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay.
From June 2000 Jean-Philippe Pearson resides in Italy and devoted himself to the production and artistic direction of the Italian version of Impro-performance, to writing, to video production and her baby was born in January 2003.
